2008 Festival Main Stage

From the Woodstock Square bandstand facing south, our Main Stage overlooks an open grassy area where you can sit and relax while enjoying our featured performers. The deck of the bandstand is high enough to give most people a good line of sight. There are some shady spots, but there are very few places that stay shaded all afternoon, so plan accordingly. And no matter where you sit, the sound will be excellent.

12:30 Dennis Warner
Dennis Warner

1:15 Martine Locke
Martine Locke
Martine Locke divides her time between the United States and Australia, has toured with Ani DiFranco and rocked the stage with The Cowboy Junkies, Arlo Guthrie, and Luka Bloom. In the acoustic music scene her songs reach well outside typical structures with a more independent, passionate perspective.
2:00 Randall Williams
Randall Williams
Randall Williams, folk singer, songwriter, opera singer, guitar teacher; Randall Williams has done it all. After graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Mons, Belgium at the head of his class, Randall, feeling that classical music lacked the inclusiveness of folk music and that the inevitable division between performer and audience was unbearable, turned to the world of traveling with his guitar, writing songs in train stations and sleeping on couches, then singing and playing on street corners, cafes, and pubs.
2:45 Twilight Hotel
Twilight Hotel
Twilight Hotel, folk/blues duo, presents dark road songs that sizzle on and seduce off stage. Two guitars or a guitar and accordion, two rich vocals, two composer-lyricists: Twilight Hotel fills a whole band’s bill with only two members. Their music is intentional story songs and emotive sketches, lyrically striking the bass chords of human needs.
3:30 Devil in a Woodpile
Devil in a Woodpile
Devil in a Woodpile has been playing acoustic blues and ragtime in Chicago for the last 10 years. Get ready to tap your toes, move your feet, and laugh your dramas away. Devil in a Woodpile breathes new, booty-shaking high spirit into the string band, jug band, jump blues music, and hokum jazz that bequeathed its sass and energy to rock ‘n’ roll.
