2008 Woodstock Folk Festival

Sunday, July 20th, 2008, Woodstock Square, 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Brought To You By...

We encourage you to patronize our 2008 advertisers and sponsors. Let them know you saw them listed in our Festival Program. This will help ensure their support in the future.

And check for advertisements in the program that may offer special coupons or other discounts on festival day!

and especially note...

This year the Festival received a generous contribution from Target in conjunction with its Community Giving program, which offers store-based grants in support of projects which promote early childhood education, the arts, and family violence prevention. The Target Community Giving funds supported the Children’s Area and the performers.

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. This grant funded the Workshop and some of the Main Stage performers.

Proudly Sponsored by the City of Woodstock

The Festival is pleased to be collaborating with the Northwest Area Arts Council which is presenting the Second Annual Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Fair at McHenry County College on July 18, 19, 20, 2008. We encourage everyone interested in folk arts to visit the fair on Friday and/or Saturday, and come to the Woodstock Folk Festival on Sunday. See the Fair ad in this year's program or check out the Fair's website for more information. “Come for the Fair, Stay for the Festival.”

Read Between the Lynes will have a special display of books related to music; the bookstore is located across from the Main Stage and near Stage Left Cafe. Thanks to owner Arlene Lynes for her support.

Thanks also to Stage Left Café for their support of the Open Mike Stage; to The Backdrop, a friend of the Woodstock Folk Festival, Mike Epstein and Carol Obertubbesing, and Annemarie Serra for their support of the Festival; to the Old Court House Arts Center and its director Bev Ganschow for providing a rain location and additional outdoor space; to the McHenry County Historical Society, the Woodstock Public Library (see display there in July), and the City of Woodstock for in-kind support; to The Woodstock Independent for its promotional assistance throughout the year; and to all of our advertisers, supporters, and partners.
