Things you should know about the Masthouse

If you're here for the first time, WELCOME!  This is a private home, and you are guest of the people who live here, so please respect their home.  Here are a few helpful things to know to make your visit enjoyable.

  • We ask for a $4.00 donation at the door to cover our expenses.  If this is too much for you, please give us what you can.
  • Feel free to go downstairs for conversation and refreshments.  Downstairs we set up a "Sharing Table".  This is something that everyone can participate in.  If you would like to bring a snack or treat to share, everyone would appreciate it.
  • Please be aware that talking in the music room is distracting to the performers.  Sometimes noise carries from the other rooms also, so please keep your conversation active only in other rooms of the house.  Because quarters are somewhat close we do ask that you do not bring small children who might make interrupting noises.  High school students invited.
  • If you wish to perform, you should call sometime during the month before the program--the sooner the better! 1-815-338-FOLK(3655)
  • If you wish to perform, you should during the month before the program--the sooner the better!

Masthouse is a smoke-free, non-alcohol environment.
Our message is love.

Enjoy yourself and come back again on the First Saturday of Every Month!

What a wonderful time was had by ALL at the 20th Year Celebration of the Masthouse.
Almost 12 hour of a celebration of music, friendship, and camaraderie was enjoyed.

Mark Davorak started off our celebration with a performance of his wonderful guitar, banjo playing and singing.

Mark was followed by a line up of all our special friends who have performed and some who continue to perform at the Masthouse each month.

Bill Cohen then performed a 2 hour program on a "Flashback to the 60's"  In his performance Bill had many visual and audio aids as he relived with us the decade of 1960 through 1969.  He also entertained us with his singing and guitar playing of many of the songs from that era that we all knew and were invited to sing along.

The Mardi Gra Cafe from the Woodstock Square set up in the basement (along with our traditional sharing table) of the Masthouse and provided us with many a delectable sandwich to carry us through the day.

A wonderful time was had by all who attended.  Click HERE to see photos of the performers of the day.
